20 years of Mauvais Genres

In the presence of François Angelier and Christophe Bier

For 20 years now François Angelier has been the host of the cult radio show called "Mauvais Genres" at his France Culture studio. The show focuses on everything that is on the margins of culture, be it comics, fashion, literature or cinema. Almost everything passes through Angelier's oddly enchanting lense. But what is "Mauvais Genres"?
"The debate about "bad taste", singular or plural, has haunted the show from its very beginning. According to Jean-Baptiste Thoret and Philippe Rouyer, no specific object qualifies as "bad taste", it is in the eye of the beholder. Analysis of the sensitivity of the audience might lie at the core of a possible definition."*

As LUFF is intimately familiar with this problematic and the many common obsessions, the celebration of this jubilee within LUFF emerged naturally. Angelier and Christophe Bier were invited to share their understanding of what is "mauvais genres" in four rare and crispy films.
