Let the Corpses Tan

In the presence of Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani

On the height of a stony hill near the Mediterranean, a hamlet falling into ruin is barely standing. It is inhabited by a lonely artist who breaks her monotonous routine by inviting old friends and their acquaintances. Among them, armed robbers hide their 250 kg gold loot stolen from an armored car. The heavy, muggy atmosphere, fueled by a blazing sun and alcohol vapors, quickly rises in tension to the inevitable and brutal breaking point... Having revisited the Giallo with “Amer” et “The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears”, the Cattet-Forzani duo composes a new visual symphony which now borrows from the codes of crime film and western. Definitely imposing their fetishist and singular style, they transform the violent noir fiction by Jean-Pierre Bastid and Jean-Patrick Manchette into a new dizzying sensery trip.

The screening is preceded by the awards ceremony.
