Uliisses

Homeric journey across the history of cinema, freely inspired by James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, and the character of Telemaque, the movie explores visual language more than anything else, by the juxtaposition of theater scenes and special effects, most often produced by the camera itself. This entertaining and humorous work demonstrates the possibility offered by playing the equipement with them and creating a cinematographical Odyssey. The presentation of Nekes’ work in this numerical version newly restored by the Deutsche Kinemathek –in which he took part himself– honours its director.
