Rejecting the social status quo, four young Quebecers, nicknamed Klas Batalo, Giutizia, Tumulto and Ordine Nuovo, engage in a series of acts of vandalism. As they flirt dangerously with terrorism, they pursue an ideal they cannot define. Neither a documentary nor a political activist work, “Those Who Make Revolutions Half Way Only Dig Their Own Graves” pictures the fate of disappointed activists five years after the sudden collapse of the “Printemps Erable” movement. The formal aspect of the movie as well as its most ambiguous content make it captivating.
