The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia

In the presence of Julien Nitzberg

Down deep into west Virginia, in Boone county, rages one of the best known criminal families in the US: the Whites. Lawless, dealers, thieves, killers, they are also the last representatives of a mining culture, and of a nearly forgotten Appalachian folklore. Proud rednecks and jail regulars, they defy death, knowing they are all to end up in hell. More hardcore than punks, more irresponsible than kids, worse crooks than the Daltons, the siblings also show an inalterable sense of humor. The filmmaker penetrates into the intimacy of these white thrash contemporaries who laugh at authority and like to make a mess.
